  • Operator typically used 750 ppm biocide per frac water
  • Cost per frac biocide was $65,000 per 100,000 Bbl lined frac pit or pond

Results

  • Expenses per frac reduced by 50%, resulting in $26,700 savings, including the cost of the the microbes
  • SRB reduced to 1,000 cells/mL or less per frac water
  • Of 60+ frac water treatments, only 2 wells have shown any ppm of H2S gas, and only 1 was higher than 10 ppm
  • As a result of this project, this operator is using Bio Tech's pre-treatment program to treat virtually all their frac water
